The Story You’re Telling Yourself is What is Playing Out in Your Reality

Have you ever caught yourself telling yourself a negative story? Maybe something like, “I’ll never get that job,” “I’ll never have enough money,” or “I’m not good enough.”

It’s easy to give in to the self-limiting stories we tell ourselves, but the truth is, these stories often manifest themselves in our lives. They shape our reality and define how successful we think we can be in life.

So often, our self-talk becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. For example, if we keep telling ourselves that we won’t get that promotion, then chances are we won’t be motivated to put in the effort and do what it takes to succeed. Unfortunately, this kind of thinking can lead to stagnation and a lack of progress in our lives.

On the flip side, if we focus on the positive and truly believe in ourselves and our capabilities, then it can open up a world of possibilities. Realizing that our thoughts have a direct impact on the outcomes of our lives can be a powerful realization. It means that we have the power to create our own reality simply by changing our mindset.

By being more aware of the stories we’re telling ourselves, we can start to make a conscious effort shift them to something more positive. Instead of telling ourselves that we won’t get that job, instead tell ourselves that we are capable and worthy of success. Instead of believing that we won’t have enough money, tell ourselves that we have the resources to create abundance. You get the idea.

If you want to unlock your full potential and see a positive change in your life, start paying attention to the stories you’re telling yourself. Change your self-talk and watch your reality shift in the same direction.
