Don’t Sit in Your Own Shit for Too Long
Instead of thinking if you fucked up or if the decision you made was the wrong one (not possible because every experience serves you positively in some way) — TRY instead to rewire the thought patterns that you currently have to what you WANT them to be.
Sometimes the choices we make are not easy ones. What makes them especially tricky is that we will stay stuck in these negative thought patterns and allow them to take us DOWN with them.
But we don’t have to do that. Instead of mindfully beating yourself up, why not empower yourself instead?
Here are some tips on how I get through these times & change the course of my thought patterns from depleting me to empowering me:
- Go back to your WHY: whatever reason you did whatever you did for- go back to that and reground yourself; remind yourself WHY you did what you did. Back yourself up when you question yourself!
- Everything is temporary, but balance helps: It’s important to have a good balance of sitting with your emotions but also not getting too wrapped up in them. Give yourself a lean in and a lean out time (aka- spend a CERTAIN amount of time thinking/dealing with the issue- then give yourself permission to MOVE on to something else). This needn’t control your entire life.
